Dr Catherine Burke

Dr Catherine Burke is Senior Lecturer in Education at the University of Cambridge. Her doctorate (1984) was in social and political history. During the 1980s - 90s, she worked for the Adult Education Service in Sheffield. In 1999, she completed a M.Ed in Networked Collaborative Learning at the University of Sheffield and in 1998 commenced employment as a lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Leeds.

She has taught, researched and published in the area of children's perspectives on education and is especially interested in the material culture of childhood in educational contexts.

Cathy is also the co-author of the book 'School' on educational architecture.
